City Hall, the state government and others have released warnings over the years about climate risks in the nation's most populous city. When Margaret Atwood wrote Oryx and Crake, I suppose she faced the same problems. Half a century later critics would agree that it did to the animated gif medium pretty much what Joyce's Ulysses did to the novel. Wait a minute… back in 1997, around the time of the death of Princess Diana, central and eastern Europe were experiencing “The Flood of the Century.” That's was also the year of Comet Hale-Bopp. Just a month after my first encounter with a Margaret Atwood novel - Oryx and Crake - I was already itching to start its sequel, Year of the Flood. If you have a geared investment it is worth considering pre-paying next year's interest to gain an immediate tax deduction, especially if you're paying the flood levy this year. The grass delta near Springfield advanced nearly a mile to the east during the flood year of 2011. So, rather than simply ignoring the how and why and previous, she wrote another novel.
